Portions of the fabric are sewn and tightly bound with cords before dyeing to leave the desired patterns in white. Finally, the colored portions are stamped by hand in a process that takes up to a month to complete. A buckle on the shoulder strap makes it adjustable in length, and fabric straps at each end grasp the mat and fasten with Velcro.
